Show STATE LEAGUE IS BEING ORGANIZED Salt Lake. Feb. 4 An enthuslas tic meeting of local baseball men Interested In-terested in the organization of a Utah State league was held last night in the Spalding sporting goods store. Owing to complications which have arisen with those who previously had the matter of forming the league In charge, it was decided last night to call together a number of men w ho have been prominent during the last few years in baseball circle. The next meeting of those interested inter-ested will be held in the Spalding store next Monday night at 8 o'clock and It Is expected that complete details de-tails for the formation of Lhe league will be arranged then. Careful consideration has been given giv-en as to the localities best able to enter teams in the league as regards the financial end. Clubs which would be most favorable are the Retail Clerks, Framptons. Magna. Arthur. Mid vale, Bingham and Tooele. These clubs heretofore have had fast ball teams and the games have attracted more than usual attention. The fans of Magna. Arthur and Tooele have been wanting a league, such as the proposed state league for some time Games In Salt Lake could probabb 1 be played at Lucas field An effort would be made to arrange the sched-ule sched-ule eo that it would not conflict with j the Union association schedule. Those Who wish to consider entering a club la the league are invited to attend the meeting next Monday night |
