I Harris' division of the district court this morning and plead ed not guilty to the Indictment charging charg-ing him with the theft of cocaine and morphine December 10, 1913. His trial will be set at the regular time for setting cases for the March term An indictment charging robbery against ( ahoon is also on file In the district court to which he has pleaded plead-ed not guilty. Tt will be recalled that he is alleged to have been accessory before the fact In the robbery and I as the petit larceny charge is based j upon the same facts he can be considered con-sidered as nothing more than an ac- i cessor before the fact in the petit larceny charge. His alleged leading associate ie p, T. Cole, who is serving serv-ing six months In the county jail on the petit larceny charge to which he pleaded guilty In the hold no of John McKenna. a messenger boy, a revolver was used by Cole and it was alleged in the indictment, in-dictment, that It was furnished by Ca noon who knew the purposes to which it was to be applied. In the holdup at the point of the revolver, five bottles of cocaine and five of morphine were taken from young McKenna, the theft of which cousti- j tutes the petit larceny charge, as the 1 cocaine and morphine is alleged to be worth only o. Cahoon denies em- i phatically that he bad any knowledge Whatever of the robbery qi the theft |
