Show CAMPAIGN EXPENSE MORE THAN SALARY Salt Lake, Feb. 4. There was spent to elect Heber M. Wells to the city commission $3890 96, or $290.96 more than the annual salary of a commissioner, commis-sioner, according to the sworn statement state-ment of campaign expenses, filed by Mr. Wells with the city recorder yesterday. yes-terday. Commissioner Wells contributed $100 of this amount has assumed bills for $453.26 to be paid by him. The remaining $3337.96 was contributed by P. J Moran, who gave $9900; Da vid Mattson, $580; W. Mont Ferry. $200; Charles H. Rellly, $200; Salt Lake Hotel & Restaurant Men's as sociation. $62.70; A. Fred Wey. $150 and J C. Wyatt. $200. Many others contributed smaller amounts ranging from $1 to $50. Of the total expenditures by the campaign committee, $597.51 was 6pent for advertising and printing. $285.50 for autos and carriages; 2748 55 for canvassers and $159.40 for general expenses. Today is the last day of the thirty day period in which campaign expen ses must be filed. W. H. Shearman water commissioner, will file his stale ment this morning. no |
