Show FRANK FAULKNER IS SHOT WHILE ON HIS WAY HOME Frank Faulkner, a youth residing on West Seventeenth street, was shot in tho left leg just below the knee, while on his way home Saturday Satur-day night. There is considerable mystery connected, with ,the affair as Faulkner who was just released from the city jail Saturday morning, during his trial implicated a couple of other men in the affair for which he was arreBted and it is thought that these men may be implicated in the shooting. Faulkner, however, claims that he was the victim o holdups. The shooting occurred near Twenty-first street on Lincoln avenue, about 11 o'clock. According to Faulkner's Faulk-ner's story, he was walking down Lincoln Lin-coln avenue with John Barton and E. E. Wilson. Just north of Hum-pris' Hum-pris' planing mill they were accosted by the holdups and told to throw up their hands. They refused to obey the command and started to run. One of the robbers fired and the bullet struck Faulkner just below the knee, who said that he managed to get nearly to his home without help and a neighbor loaned him a horse with which he completed his journey. Later La-ter In the evening he asked that a doctor be called, but instead, a call was sent for the police. The auto-patrol auto-patrol and two officers went to the home and took him to a physician. He did not explain what had become of his companions after the shooting. The police are making a thorough Investigation of the case. nn |
