Show SKIS TO BE USED ON IE STEEP SIDE OF BEN LOMOND Rev. Frank C. Bralnerd. E. P. Archibald Arch-ibald and others have gohe skiing on Mount Ben Lomond today. They went to the foot of the mountain near Pleasant View and from there proceeded pro-ceeded up the mountain on their skis. It is ihe first trip of the kind attempted and the return of the party is looked forward to with some anxiety. anx-iety. The mountain has an elevation of about 10,000 feet and Its ascension ascen-sion will be somewhat difficult. It will not be much of an effort to return, except that the travelers may get up too much speed and go over a cliff. To avoid dangerous crags and heavy underbrush will require some skill and it will he quite remarkable if all return without some heavy bumps and skyward flights. |
