Show WHO ISSUED CALL FOR PROGRESSIVE MEETING Those who sent letters inviting certain cer-tain people to attend Saturday's Progressive Pro-gressive meeting and signed themselves them-selves "the committee" are requested to make themselves known. An effort ef-fort Is being made to throw the responsibility re-sponsibility of tho personnl call on the Standard, alleging that the paper refused to print the call. The misleading mis-leading statement Is promptly denied as Is shown by the following question by the chairman of the party In Weber We-ber county: "Publisher Standard: I am advised that you refused to publish the call for the Progressive meeting last Saturday Sat-urday at the City Hall, thus forcing the self-appointed 'committee' to send private cards to those wanted at the meeting. Is that true? "G. J. S. ABELS, "Chairman Progressive Party of Weber County." Mr. Abels nnd the Progressives generally gen-erally are informed that the Standard did not refuse to publish said call and we wroro never asked to publish it, and did not receive a private postal card Inviting ub to any meeting.
