During the early part of the week 'trading was abnormally dull and prices barely moved, but later the course of the market became definitely downward. Reports from the steel trade were practically discouraging. The effect of severe shrinkage In railroad .earnings .earn-ings was offset to some extent by the expectation of an increase in freight rates for the eastern lines. The crop report gave promise of an exceptional ex-ceptional yield of winter wheat and the monthly copper statistics were strong, but the market was not in the mood to take these favorable con-siderations con-siderations into account. In the money mrtrkot there was uninterrupted un-interrupted ease.
