Sullivan, secretary of tbe Amateur Athletic Union, today made public a letter from William Unmack, vice president of the Pacific Coast asso-elation, asso-elation, in regard to the record re-cently re-cently credited to Howard Drew, ne-gro ne-gro sprinter who formerly ran for Springfield high school. Drew is now a student at the University of fA Southern California. In a dual meet at Berkeley, March 28, he won a 100-yard 100-yard dash and was timed in 9 3-5 sec- Unmack says Drew beat Bradley, who Is a consistent 10 1-5 man, by six yards; that there was no wind to aid him and that the start was equal, according to the rules, The record committee is investl-gating investl-gating and will likely allow it as a new record.
