| Show CO OPERATION cooperation FOR PACIFIC STATES the california promotion commit tee announces that a movement to ear feet a permanent central association of commercial organizations of the pacific coast states and choss states whose progress is immediately identified with the advancement of the coast Is nufler way the purpose ot the central organization will bo to bring all the pacific states together through a close relationship tion ship ot their commercial organizations the pacific states progress association will bring about a broad vigorous and generous spirit of cooperation so that the pacific coast will be in a position to reap the benefits to which it Is by nature entitled and to command tho respect and admiration of the world this does not mean that the pacific states will build about themselves a great wall and urge competition against the rest of the united states rather they will define their position for progress so that the nation may see that they stand undivided and will know what their position Is this will bo of tho greatest advantage to the congressional representatives senta tives of the pacific states at washington they can unite in urging legislation for any part ot ahe pacific states region and congress will bo readier in acceding to their demands when the congressional delegations ara themselves united and backed by a united pacific states region this working together will not narrow the views of those who arc interi ested in the progress of the pacific states it will broaden them rt will not make us less patriotic americans but better citizens of tha united stales the oregon development league and other organizations in oregon washington idaho nevada stati and arizona arc operating cooperating co with the california promotion committee in this broad movement for mutual bene fit the california promotion committee Is the central organization of chambers of commerce and development associations in california the committee is not only doing magnificent work for california but it has a good word for the whole west it cooperates with all chambers of commerce and other organizations in the west the institution advertises throughout the world and caltea a leading part in matters that tend to the advancement of the golden state at its headquarters in san francsco FrancK co a barge force of stenographers and clerks under efficient heads of departments send out literature and letters to inquirers |
