FEUDIST KILLED IN BATTLE ky july 27 la a desperate encounter between ho mullins and fleming factions of colonel mullans leader ot the mullans faction has been killed william mul lans wounded and jeff fleming fatally hurt the battle took place on beono fork in a lonely mountain section near the border of latcher and aka counties the mullans were led by sol mullins and the flemings by sol fleming the two leaders opened fire on each other and their men joined in sol mullans led his followers in a fierce charge which the flemings met with a rain 0 bullets sol and will mullins fell wounded and when jeff fleming was seen to fall the battle ended by sol mullins consent while attention was being given the wounded sol mullins died fifty shots wera alred sheriff thacker of mercery county went to the scene with a poise and arrested three of the mullans faction col leming refused to submit to arrest and fled with his men to tha mountains
