traina ARE LATE Va shouts on the rio grande cause delay t f it was 8 this morning before rio grando train no 3 due to arrive at 1240 this pulled into tha union depot washouts Wa shouts along the line as a result of the heavy rainstorm were the cause of the delay but the tracks are again in order and the trains are arriving on time at price thera was quite a piece of track weakened by the rain and it was essary to proceed at a slow rate of speed for a number of miles about a mile of track was washed out at tucker and at point the train was obliged to lay over until repairs could tie made the storm beems to have been general all over the state and while the railroads sustained no serious damage it wag necessary to run the trains at a low rate of speed as a result of which nearly all trains on lines running into the city were late in arriving bouthern pacific train no 6 was lap which held union pacific train no 4 until almost 10 before it left for the sast short line no 10 arriving from the north several hours late last night was composed of fifteen cars all of which were well filled with passengers the majority of whom were returning from the fair at portland
