Show TWO BAD MEN IN POLICE ONE OF THEM JUST OUT OF THE penitentiary fellow who took the wrong grip falls to appear to answer to the charge from fridays standard according to the story of one man and tho statement of the police in regard to another there was about as bad a crowd of men in the police court this morning as has been before his honor in some time I 1 the two men were charged with vagrancy and to the officers had given the names of william la rose and thomas brown when arraigned in court they pleaded guilty to the charge of vagrancy and asked the court to be allowed to leave town andge murphy questioned them in regard to their past and la rose told the court that he had just been released from the penitentiary having been sentenced from this city two years ago for a burglary committed here he said that he was trying to work his way to his home la washington brown claimed that he had been in trouble before and that tie too was bound home after a season of hard work on the wyoming cattle range sergeant chambers told the court that brown had just been released from the state prison after serving time for a crime committed in salt lale with the two at the time of their arrest was edward crowley who was not of the same class although he pleaded guilty to vagrancy the judge warned him against associating with men like la rose and brown and ordered the three to leave the city within a few hours or serve 00 days on the rock pile clifford St elcher a young boy was in court on the charge of vagrancy he is a redheaded red headed boy with a broad smile and even the prospects of the rock pile seemed to have not affected his disposition whenever he was referred to he grinned doubtless he had heard of the juvenile court and knew that he would be turned over to that court in which case he would have no occasion to fear rock piles was not ached to plead to the charge and was turned over to probation officer jacobs A J cook who took the wrong grip at the union depot friday afternoon and as a result was arrested on the charge of petit larceny was allowed to regain his freedom last night conall on all and did not appear in court to anaver to the charge the bail was declared forfeited christian christenson Chrt stenson of brigham city came to the city to have a good time he had it and when he woke up this morning he found himself in the city jail with a charge 0 drunk against him during friday evening he had made a disturbance in electric alley and had had a bucket of water thrown on him to keea him quiet this had no effect and the police were asked to take charge of him in court he pleaded guilty to having been drunk and was fined 5 which he paid william landers pleaded guilty to having been drunk and was fined 5 |
