Show OLD ROOSEVELT RECEPTION COM HAD A BALANCE of which is turned over to the ogden choir which is still short over 1000 from fridays standard the shortage ji tabernacle choir funds may yet be made good the choir was forced to borrow a lot of money from the first national bank and it is expected that public spirited citizens of ogden will make up the deficiency the choir has been well received and has given ogden a lot of advertising yesterday the committee on general arrangements of the president roosevelt reception of two years ago met and decided to turn over to the taber maclo a balance on hand left over from the presidents reception fund when the bills of the presidents reception were all paid it was the intention of the committee to refund the money to the subscribers to the fund but the roosevelt reception fund was a popular subscription there being over seven hundred fifty cent and one dollar subscriptions and over two hundred people refused to alvo their names thus even it the committee had decided to send each person from four cents to 13 cents it could not have done so because two hundred and sixty names were missing the committee then unanimously decided to bank the money and keep it until some popular cause for agdens interest should demand the money when the choir needed 2000 of its required the committee decided to turn the money over to the tabernacle choir A number of times demands have been made tor this money but the sending of the ogden choir to portland is the first proposition that could corn mand the unanimous vote of the committee the committee having charge of this fund consists of wm glasmann chairman joseph vice dent A T wright secretary I 1 L dark treasurer and H C tavey when the committee first decided to turn this money over to tha choir mr A T wright of the committee notified mr keisel that he would raise wright sons co s subscription from 10 to 60 and that a certain committee would give more mr klesal gave it out to the papers that wright sons co would give mr A T wright requested mr klesel to correct the matter in the papers but he left for portland without doing so mr wright requests this paper to make the correction stating that his firm gives 50 and not aco as stated by mr kiesel tha being given by the roosevelt committee |
