Butter men who attended the annual meeting of the Elgin bonrd of trade, at which the quotations committee was legislated uut of existence, declared today that butter within the next six months will be cheaper than it was a year ago. This prediction, they said, is not based on the abolition of the quotations quota-tions committee, nor on the government govern-ment anti-trust suit directed against the board, but on the natural conditions condi-tions of the market. It is stated that there is no corner cor-ner in butter, but that the excess now instorago in comparison with lasr j ear is due to the fact that mora storage companies are making public reports of butter In storage. In Chicago today butter and egg prices remained stationary. Defendants Defen-dants named in thc suit against the Elgin board of trade were served with subpoenas today |
