Show I BAMEEMGE.R IS I OPPOSING I O.S.I. fl m The Intonirban situation at Bountl- I ful Jb growing more and more Inter- V csting. With the Salt Lake & Ogden rail-1 rail-1 way skirting the western edge of tho & town, the city council of Bountiful recently granted a franchise to tho I Utah Light & Railway company, al- 1 1 lowing it the privilege oi huildlng an interurban road through the city This I was to enter the town from the south- I east and to extend through it and on I to Conterville. The service from the If ! two lines would he about all that Hi i any city the size of Bountiful could H expect or desire. I About a week ago tho Salt Lakc& w Ogden Railway company started to !lay a track on highway No. 2, which is tho route selected by the Utah Light & Railway company for entrance en-trance into Bountiful. Xot only was work started, but Simon Bamberger, president of the Salt Lako & Ogden Railway company, obtained in the Second district court at Ogden a writ of injunction against the Utah Light & Power company and others in an apparent effort to prevent any interference inter-ference with tho work by that company, com-pany, which appears to have been expected ex-pected by the Bamberger people. The citv of Bountiful has granted a franchise to the Utah Light & Railway Rail-way company to construct and oper ate an Interurban railway through the city and has not granted such a franchise fran-chise to the Salt Lake & Ogden com-j com-j pany, Mr. Bamberger, however, claims the right to construct such lines as I are needed for the successful opora- 1 tion of the line now extending bo- tween Salt Lake and Ogden. and evi dently deems th line on highway No. 12 necessary to that operation. Altogether, there seems to be a nice little lawsuit before the interurban question at Bountiful Is finally set-j set-j tied, although representatives of the i two controlling companies seem com- ' placent regarding the whole affair and would Impress the public with the idea that the matter will soon be settled. |
