Show EXPLOSIONS CANNOT BE EXPLAINED Commenting on the explosion yesterday yes-terday at San Antonio In which 32 men wore killed, local railroad officials offi-cials say that the accident might have resulted from a number of causes and whllo it Is possible that tho explosion explo-sion might have been caused by some enemy of the company It most probably prob-ably was due to carelessness. It has been a matter of record now and then that one of these big engines, en-gines, blows up and,4 the real causa, Is left a matter of conjecture These big engines are termed tho high pressure class, aud carry a greater steam pros-sure pros-sure than any other 'Forborne unknown un-known causo the steam pressure will suddenly run up until the boiler bursts. Recently a now engine has boon designed, de-signed, carrying a lower steam pressure pres-sure aud largor cylinders which gives the same amount of effioloncy without tho danger of explosion. This type of engine is replacing tho old high-prea-suro variety as fast as practicable |
