He was feeling 111 but was not nwaro of tho nature of his disease until Informed by the ofllcers. When told that ho was a vic- tlm of smallpox he readily agreed io ! follow the direction of the officers. I These directions were that Cunlllbc 1 was to walk up the middle of the Rtreet at a very respectful distance ahead of the officers.
