Show New Mexico Legislators Have Withdrawn Resignations Santa Fo, X. M., March 19. The trap set by the Republican State central coiumltteo last night, in which four membors of the house, .IosevP. Lucero and Julian C Tru-jlllo Tru-jlllo of Rio Arriba county, and Manuel Man-uel Cordova and Luis M. Montoya of Toas county were arrested charged with accepting bribes to vote for certain cer-tain senatorial candidates, today was declared by tho accused men to havo been set by themselves to catch the I "higher ups." After a night In jail, tho accused men assumed a defiant attitude today. Their resignations, prepared last night, wore presented to the house by Stato Chairman V, Jaramlllo. A communication from the prisoners, also presented to the houso, asserted that their resignations had been secured se-cured through coercion, that they would withdraw them and demand a thorough investigation. Subsequently the house adopted a resolution authorizing author-izing tho appointment of a committee ot tifteejn io investigate the alleged bribery charges District Attorney Read and his assistant, as-sistant, E. P Davies, today began collecting col-lecting ovidencc for informations which thoy planned to flic against the four men late today. Santa Fe, N. M., March 19.
