Ward celebrated his fiftieth anniversary as a printer here last night by republishing repub-lishing a section of a llttlo paper, the Mahoning Register, on which ho worked at that time, tho most interesting inter-esting Item In it being of a man who was later destined to be president of the United States. Tho item road as , follows: "William McKinloj', Jr., teaching-school teaching-school near Youngstown, will evidently evi-dently ask the school board to find another teacher; likewise William J. Calhoun of Lowellvlllo, Both are eager to enlist. The Nineteenth Ohio In- fantry arc filling tholr quota." Mr. Ward was then 17 years old. He came to Chicago In 1868.
