Show H , FOURTH OF JULY. H The mayor has initiated a movement for the fitting celebration H of the Fourth of July by calling a mass meeting for Tuesday even- H ing, June 20. at Ihe City Hall. H The nation's natal clay should not pass without some putward Hj show of patriotism on the part of the people of Ogden. It has H been so long since an old-fashioned Fourth of Jul' celebration was H held that there arc children in Oeden who have no recollection of H such an event. H The Fourth of July should be one clay devoted to love of H country. We have holidays commemorative of nearly every other Hj great event and we should not overlook our birth as a nation, which H should equal, if not transcend, all other events in importance. H We should have a sane Fourth of July and yet one in great H , part given over to the children that they may emulate us in keeping H I up reverence for the fathers of this country and in recognizing the j blessings of the independence and freedom which was born in the H struggle of the men who fought with "Washington. M Ogden 's patriotism is in need of an arousing! by a stirring cele- M bration of Ihe Fourth of July. |
