Show PLATINUM SGARCE Supt. Bachtell of the Ready Pay mine who is also an agent of the U.S. Government Mining Bureau, has just returned from a trip into the Wasatch mountains, at the headwaters of the Sevier river, whither he went in searclj of platinum deposits. Hereports good success. In this connection, the following item from a New York paper will be of interest. "The price of platinum, it became known today, has jumped $20 an ounce in two days, the quotations now running from $80 to $86 an ounce. Scarcity of the metal, because be-cause of the war embargo set two years ago on platinum from Russia, together to-gether with the beginning of the Christmas holiday demand from jewelers, jew-elers, were attributed as reasons." |
