Show Worm Damage A number of farmers in Pahvant and Delta regions, state that cut worms are doing considerable da- Image to their alfalfa seed crop. These are not the larva of the night flying moths which we commonly com-monly call cut worms. They are a longer, slimmer type with a white to yellow streak on their body. They feed on the alfalfa buds and - leaves. They are doing considerable damage. da-mage. They will hit the potato fields and strip the leaves from the potatoes if they are not watched. Farmers are urged to dust their fileds with calcium arsenate, at the rate of four pounds per acre. Watch jyour field and stop these worms before it is too late. The time to check on the damage is when you first observe these insects, in-sects, don't wait until the damage dam-age is done and then ask how to stop it. |
