Show ile Is a Paratrooper . . . Sent by Delbert Bradfield Who is the man who struts as he walks, With his pants tucked into his boots? Why he is the man who went through heil, To land by a parachute. Why does he fight and talk too much And often forget to salute? Is he a god in the eyes of men, This man in the paratroops? Should all men bow when he passes by, As they see him in his shiny boots? Is he a king among all men When he lands by a parachute? No, he is not a god Nor a king of men With his pants tucked in his boots. He has a right to strut at he walks, This man in the paratroops. He may not be handsome, He need not be tall To tuck his pants in his boots, But he must be a man This trooper of ours Who lands by parachute. So take your Air Corps and M. P.'s, too, And teach them how to salute, I'll take the man with the strut in his walk The one in the Paraatroops. (Sent from overseas to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bradfield of Leamington by their son Del.) |
