Show Seaman Sends Citation Home Mr. and Mrs. Ted Dalton had a letter from their son, Keith Dalton, S 1c, on July 31, the latest news they have had of him. enclosing the following citation: The Commander of Seventh Fleet takes pleasure in commending .Keith C. Dalton, Seaman First Class U. S. Naval Reserve for service as I set forth in the following citation: "For distinguishing himself by excellent ex-cellent iervice while serving aboard a vessel in her action against the enemy in the Southwest Pacific A-rea A-rea . . . His ship was subjected to a concerted . . . attack by . . enemy ene-my aircraft. The attack developed with terrific speed and to all observers ob-servers it appeared inevitable that at least one of the enemy aircraft would succeed in crashing the deck However, throughout the entire course of the attack, he manned his gun. kept up an incessant and deadly accurate defensive fire, anc assisted in shooting down the . . leading planes.
