Mrs. Rasmussen and her husband, FO Julian Rasmussen, who is home on leave, were over from their home : in Fillmore for a visit with her brother, Orran Ashby, and family, and they made a trip to the airport air-port to see the planes there. Mrs. Rasmussen inadvertently stepped too close to a moving propeller and j was knocked to the ground. Her head was lacerated by one of the blades, and both hands were hit, cutting two fingers almost off on the right hand, and the little finger fin-ger on the left hand. She was treated at the hospital in Delta, and is now at the Orran Ashby home. It is thought the cut fingers will be saved, and the concussion was slight, so she is recovering from what came close to a fatal accident. Mr. Coleman, from the ariport, made two trips to Topaz by plane to get the doctor and nurse for Mrs. Rasmussen. On the first trip he saw the doctor's car on the highway, and landed in an alfalfa patch to intercept him. He damaged his undercarriage somewhat, but i gave the message, and came back ; to the port to get another plane, j He made the second trip to Topaz j and back safely, bringing, a nurse. |
