Show Parkinson Reunion. i Tne reunion of the family of Samuel R. Parkinson at Franklin Tuesday was a grand affair, Judging from tho ; account In the Cache Valley News. ' That paper devotes two columns tie-( scrlptive of the pleasures of tho day, a portion of which Is as follows: The exercises of the day began at 1 o'clock p. in. The program was divided Into two divisions, the Grandchildren Grand-children occupying the time from 1 until 4 o'clock . in. in rendering their little songs, l eel tat Ions and music for Grandpa. From 4 o'clock until 0 o'clock, the family partook of the bounteous dinner which had been arranged by tho committee. At tl o'clock tho evening's exorcises began, consisting of songs, sketches and Instrumental music by the older members of tho family. Among the parts rendered during the day, two deserve special notice; 1st, thct historical sketch of the father's life prepared and delivered by William, which showed that Patriarch Samuel It. P.uklnsou has had a most remarkable caicer; havlngctrcumnavl. gated the globe when but a boy. In his young manhood lie settled at St. Louis, Mo. where he met his llrst wife. After their marriage, they migrated with the Latter-day Saints to these valleys where thev passed through every stage of pioneer life, going through all of the hardships consequent conse-quent to those early das In Utah and Idaho. To him belongs the honor of being one of the llrst to build a school house in the state of Idaho. He has been one of the most loyal supporters of the cause of education and has done much in support of our local commonwealth. 2nd. The Genealogical Tree prepared pre-pared and delivered by Geo. C. was a complete surprises to all members of the family the Tree witU Samuel R. Parkinson as the trunk and wives as the great arms, and Ills children and grand children and great grand children, represented by the. branches and fruit thereof, was set forth in a painting by a Salt Lake artist, and presents a most beautiful and Instructive picture.
