Show Thieves on Prowl in Cedar The Cedar City Police Department reported today that a number of thefts occurred over the weekend. According to Chief Douglas Bolton, all of the thefts reported involved items that were removed from vehicles. Chief Bolton further fur-ther stated that this is the most common kind of theft in Cedar City at this time and that citizens should take extra care in securing their vehicles and property left inside them. The reported thefts were: Valerie Bentenson of 307 South 500 West reported that 30 eight track tapes valued at about $350 were taken from her car. Thomas Holyoak reported fishing equipment taken from the back of his truck at his residence at 343 South 1000 West. Collen Holyoak noticed the theft of a battery from a U-Haul U-Haul truck parked by his home Friday night. It was valued at $40. John Pensis of 1295 Mountain View Drive reported the theft of a $200 single side band radio from his truck parked at his home. It appeared that the thief tried to take other items but was frightened off. |
