Show BLM schedules grazing hearing Rescheduling of a public hearing and extension of the deadline for public comment concerning the Bureau of Land Management's first grazing environmental statement in Utah has been announced by Paul L. Howard, BLM Utah state director. The public hearing on the Hot Desert grazing management plan draft statement has been rescheduled for July 11 at 7 p.m. in the Washington County Courthouse, St. George. The meeting originally was planned for June 29. Persons who wish to present oral comments at the hearing are asked to limit their statements to 10 minutes. Written comments will be accepted at the hearing or can be mailed to the BLM District Manager, P.O. Box 729, Cedar City, Ut. 84720. The public comment period on the draft environmental en-vironmental statement has been extneded to July 18, to allow the public more time to review the statement, Mr. Howard said. All comments received at the St. George hearing or received by mail will be considered in preparation of the final environmental statment, added Mr. Howard. The statement involves implementation of 42 allotment management plans, 14 custodial plans, and plans to eliminate livestock grazing on three allotments in Washington County, Utah. |
