Second place honors went to the float entitled "Grandma's Fixings" entered by Scott Machinery and third place went to Froyd, Inc. for a float entitled "Summer Pasttime." Cash awards were presented to the winning floats and $1 prizes were awarded to the top five entries in both the bicycle and tricycle entries. LONG WAIT. This youngster seems a little dejected at the long wait at the fish pond. Lines were long as thousands turned out to enjoy the 4th of July celebration at the park. With good weather - no wind - I balloons became very popular for the j youngsters as they witnessed the annual Miniature Parade Tuesday morning. The races for children is always a popular event at the July Fourth celebration. Here's a close finish in one of the events that drew many entries in each of the age categories. ', : '"''Sis n LOTS OF BICYCLES. Literally hundreds of bikes and tricycles participated in the Fourth of July Parade Tuesday. Cash awards were presented to five in each division at the parade sponsored by the Lady Lions. The entire day's activities were under the direction of the Lions Club. |
