Show Dixie Forest Fire Restrictions Fire restrictions are being ordered on portions of the Dixie National Forest effective ef-fective July 5, 1978, according ac-cording to District Ranger Rollo Brunson. The order prohibits (1) Building or using a fire, campfire, charcoal broiler, or coal or wood stove without permit except in Forest Service campgrounds, and (2) Smoking except inside buildings, at Forest Service campgrounds, at improved places of habitation, and in vehicles. The restriction broadly covers the National Forest land east of the Duck Creek-Rippetts Creek-Rippetts Bailey, Panguitch Lake-Cedar Breaks roads and west of U.S. Highway 89. Detailed maps and descriptions are available at local Forest Service offices. The fire restrictions will remain in effect until rescinded, which will depend upon sufficient rains to remove the fire danger. |
