Show Appaloosa Horse Club holds trail ride and dinner By Sylvia Curtis The Color Country Appaloosa Appa-loosa Horse Club held a trail-ride trail-ride and a dutch-oven dinner early this month in New Harmony. Har-mony. The (event was a fund raising project to help send the club's queen, Bernice Burgos, Bur-gos, to the National All Appaloosa Appa-loosa Horse Show which was held in Las Vegas, Nev. July 13-18. Members of the club met at the Dallas Grant home where the trail-ride get underway under-way at noon. The ride was a good 10 miles through Comanche Coman-che Canyon to Lyle Prince's Deer Camp. The group then trailed through Little Paradise Flat to Grant's Deer Camp whore the dutch oven dinner was served. A portion of those in attendance did net participate partici-pate in the ride, but traveled to Grant's camp where they had the dinner ready for the riders. Following the dinner members mem-bers rode back to New Harmony Har-mony to conclude V.is day's events. Officers of the club expressed express-ed thanks to those who made the trail-ride a success and announced alo that the annual an-nual membership drive is now being held. Anyone interested in the Appaloosa Horse and who enjoy en-joy family outings are invited to join. Tlie Color Country Appa-locca Appa-locca Horse Club will ride in fie Pioneer Day Parade in Cedar Ce-dar City July 24 and later in the season will participate in the Peach Days Parade in Hurricane A Appaloosa Filly will be awarded by the club in the final day of the Dixie Roundup Round-up In St. Georg to conclude a fund raising drive. Tickets for the filly can be acquired through any member of the club, officers state. |
