Many of the group visited the old home sites of their grandparents, as well as the Old Rock Church A family federation organization organ-ization was effected with the following as officers: Mac C. Matheson, president, with three vice presidents, John B. Matheson, Jr., Veldron R. Matheson, Norman M. Adams, Ad-ams, with Dr. Aurdia Matheson Mathe-son as correspondent secretary, secre-tary, and a five-member correlation cor-relation committee representing represent-ing members of the original family. They are Steve Matheson, Mathe-son, Joyce Durham Larson, Franklin Boyd Matheson, June Wood Danvers and Afton W. Hannig. It was decided to try and hold another Daniel and Catherine Cath-erine Matheson family reunion reun-ion In three years, which will be the 170th birthday, and from then on only every five years. - Almost 400 descendants of Daniel and Catherine Mathe- son gathered last Saturday : afternoon at the Third Ward cultural hall to celebrate Daniel's Dan-iel's 167th birthday. Their children were: David Hogg Matheson, John Nathaniel Matheson, Ma-theson, Alexander Matheson, and Ellen M. Wardell. Descendants came from as ' far east at the Mississippi Ri-' Ri-' ver, and the Pacific Ocean on ' ;the west. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie ; R. Matheson of Lincolnswood, . 111., were co-chairmen of the reunion. Leslie Is the author of the book "The Matheson Clan." to be published soon, i --To start the reunion a buf- fet supper was catered by the food services at S U S C in Cedar City, and this was followed fol-lowed by a program and dancing. This was followed by square 4 dancing, social dancing and seeing a film "Scotland". The benediction was by Bishop Bruce de Winter Matheson. Directing the program and show were " Dale W.
