The vehicle will be used for the transportation of food from Pare wan High School to th0 Parcwan Elementary in connection with 'lhe school lunch program and for the transporting of students. A salary schedule for ad ministrative and supervisory personnel was adopted by the IVi.ard. The schedule contained contain-ed variances but was estimated estim-ated at approximately a three percent increase, which was In keeping with ttte recent salary scheduled approved for teacher contracts. The board alf o reviewed the Region Eight schedule of ac- tivlties for the coming school year. Noted on the schedule was the inclusion during the year of a state music ensemble ensem-ble festival to be held April 8. 1971 in Salt Lake City. It Is the first time the festival will be held on a state basis. Other changes included the division of the instrumental and vocal festivals on a regional re-gional basis. Both will be held at St. George but at different times. Emphasis will be plac ed on marching this year, it was also pointed out. , . Superintendent Clair Morris announced to the board that Howard Waird, building ; and grounds supervisor, has accepted ac-cepted employment with the LDS Church system in the South Pacific. . . - As a result the district is currently accepting applications applica-tions to, fill the vacancy and hope to make a selection at the board meeting August 16. The position requires skills in plumbing and electrical work, it was pointed out. Iron County School Board took action at the regular board meeting Monday to put things in order for the opening open-ing of the 1971 school year. Authorized by the board was the calling for bids for the supplying of coal for all buildings build-ings in the district and calling call-ing for bids for the supplying of milk for the lunch program. Bid specifications can be obtained ob-tained at the school board offices. of-fices. In addition, the board authorized auth-orized the call for bids for curb and gutter Installation on the west side of the Cedar Junior High School football field on 600 west strecet. Further Fur-ther the board has approved the oiling of the street to the curb in connection with the street of the city this year. In addition flhe board has authorized the curb and gutter gut-ter installation of the E. B. Dalley property on 400 East and curb to street oiling will be completed on that property as well as on 600 West street adjacent to the North Elementary Ele-mentary property. A decision was also made to offer the former Palmer property located on Harding Avenue and 200 West street for sale. The property was originally purchased as a future fu-ture site for the District Administrative Ad-ministrative offices. Information regarding the bid is published elsewhere in this issue of the lron County Coun-ty Record. In other action of the 'board a bid, submitted by Bradshaw Chevrolet Co. for a 12 passenger passeng-er vehicle, was accepted. The Bradshaw low bid was in the amount of $5592. Only one |
