Show Police Chief reports June activity i month and nine arrests of juveniles were made during the coure of the month. A total of 22 sleepers were handled, 14 accidents were investigated, in-vestigated, 40 traffic tickets were issued, including 20 for moving violations and 11 non-. moving. Five fire iall3 were handled, two funeral escorts were provided and two were apprehended and held for ether eth-er departments. Cedar City Corporation also received a letter that praised the work of the police department. depart-ment. Addressed to Officer Bradley Brad-ley the letter, written by Miss Linda Schmiko, read, in part, as follows: "I want to thank you again for boirig.so good to Us girls from Minneapolis . , . Cedar City was the nicest place I've ever been. I never knew there were so many wonderful people peo-ple in one place ... I wish we had a city police department like the one in Cedar City." C. A Kirkham .Cedar City Chief of Police issued a report of activities for the month of June to the Cedar City Council. A highlight of the report was the apprehension and conviction of a suspect who was sentenced to one to five years in the state prison. The -uspect was fir.st detected through the use of a stolen credit card in Cedar City and apprehension wag made' in St. George. ' After returning to Cedar City the suspect was charged with 22 counts of possession of stolen credit cards and in oossession of a stolen vehicle. On the latter charge he pleaded plead-ed guilty and was sentenced.. In addition three suspects in a burglary in St. George were picked up in Cedar City and returned to St. George to face charges. Generally the report indicated indicat-ed that the Cedar City police department handled a total of -ix felonies during the month. A total of 16 misdemeanors 'vere handled of which 14 were arrests in connection with alcohol. Only one drunk driver driv-er was charged Uuriaj the |
