He is spending extensive time on a training program in the United States. Turk trains in Cedar area The purpose of this training train-ing program is to enable Ahmet to obtain a more thorough thor-ough knowledge of and gain more experience in all aspects of soil survey including development devel-opment of legends, field mapping map-ping inspection, correlation and use of the new soil classification class-ification system. It is also expected that with Ahmet Kurtbeyoglu, a resident resi-dent of Turkey is in Iron County as a part of art exchange ex-change training program with the Turkey government. Mr. Kurtbeyoglu is with the Soil Conservation Service while in this area and has j been working with a soil sampling team in the process of making a soil survey of Cedar City and surrounding area. j The training program is an extensive operation of the United States Department of Agriculture, Foreign Economics Econom-ics Development Service. . Kurtbeyoglu began his training program in the United Unit-ed States in December 1970 and was first assigned In Pasa Robles, Calif. On March 22 of this year through June 4 he was at the Utah State University Univer-sity in Logan and moved into the southern Utah area on June 7. On July 27 he will return re-turn to Salt Lake City for a brief stay before moving on to East Lancing, Mich., where he will participate in a communication commun-ication seminar. On August 9 he will return to Washington and will leave for his return trip to Turkey August 14. additional training he will provide leadership in training of professional and sub-professional personnel. Under an agreement with tthe Turkish government he will return to his . homeland where he will be assigned to the positions previously held or to a similar or more responsible position in his field of training. His assignment in this area has given him an opportunity to work extensive with soil survey processes relative to general range land and agriculture agri-culture as well as community development and needs. |
