Show Parowan residents in Mesa, Ariz, for Whitney wedding Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hatch, Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Da vies and family; Mrs. Margaret Knight and daughters Rosie and Christine and Mary Louise Lou-ise Robinson all traveled to Mesa, Ariz last wwk to be present at the wedding and reception of Miss Deann Whitney, Whit-ney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Whitney, former residents resi-dents of Parowan. Miss Whitney was married to Gary Mortensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Mortensen Morten-sen June 27 in the Mesa LDS Temple with Leo Parker of the Temple presidency officiating in the ceremony. The bride is the granddaughter grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Whitney, who were also in attendance at the event with members of their family. Following the ceremony the wedding party was hosted at a wedding breakfast at the Mesa Reception Center and in the evening the parents of the bride hosted a reception in thoir honor held in the Mesa Sixth Ward cultural hall. At this event Miss Mary Louise Robinson and Miss Ann Osborne of Cedar City were bridesmaids; Mrs. Margaret Knight and daughters; Mrs. Mary Davies, Mrs. Elaine Duke and Mrs. Marie Whitney were in charge of the gifts. Mrs. Hatch says it was just like old home week as there was so many former Parowan people present. |
