Show Main Street merchants' sense of humor exemplified by Foodtown management has been difficult at times to maintain a sense of humor but their customers have helped. They have appreciated all who were courageous enough to shop at their store. Tourists from the east have also helped them to see the numerous side. The other day one said, "Boy, you must have I had a hull-uv-a flood hexe." It takes a sense of humor to operate a business on Main Street these days during the big re-modeling operation to the street and sidewalk. As Cedar citizens have climbed about in the dirt and the mud, simulating an old time movie set, they have appreciated the sense of humor displayed by Olie Olafson and Clark Barton of Foodtown Stores. Besides the dust, the mud, and the inconvenience, Food-town Food-town has had more than its share of catastrophy. Just to name a few; the water main was broken 7 times, the crew was stalled in front twice for snow storms, once for the entire en-tire week while their parking lot was blocked off. Then the City digger took off half of the advertising marquee. This was sad for local residents res-idents who have watched for and chuckled at the clever signs displayed. During the big sale to celebrate their anniversary, an-niversary, their parking lot was blocked off, street parking was being used by city crews and the sign read, "Anniversary "Annivers-ary sale, Dirt Cheap."
