Show Junior High band caps outstanding year ; from the Jr. High that partlcl- f panted in the band festival: Cariot 'Band "H", Beginning' Band "IV, flute trio (Karen Bradshavv, Jill Anderson, Laurie Hansen) "I", flute solo, (Elaine Truman) "I", flute; quartet (Elaine Truman, Mary Ellon Schmutz, Paula Pollock, Janet Jolley) "I", flute trio (Vickie Heaton, Kno Porter, "Ir Marilyn Morris) "II", clarinet jj trio (Kric Orton, Carolyn Jor- g genson, Anitnette Hunter) "II" The Band has participated in the various parades around JW the area as well, including. the Dixie Roundup, SUSC homecoming, and others asJ well as performing in the an- fj nual Jr. High School Pano- jj rama. I The Cedar Jr. High School band has just completed a most outstanding year, with honors and prizes being taken by the group in many events this year. Latest in a long line of enlevements, is the band's par. ticipation in the annual "Hell, dorado" celebration and parade par-ade held in Las Vegas on May Hi. Competing with 11 other out-of-staate school bands, the Cedar band brought home a second place finish, with Mo-Jave Mo-Jave High School of Mo-jave, Mo-jave, Calif., first, and the Foothill High School Band from Tustin, Calif., third. Cedar was the only entry from 'Utah in the parade and the only Jr. High Bantd to place- In addition, the drill team grabbed a first place in the school's division. The band also recently par-ticipated par-ticipated in the annual band festival, held this year in Cedar Ce-dar City, and reveiced a "I" rating. Ratings are given on a I, II, and III basis, with "I" being the highest. The band received superior ratings on all numbers performed and received re-ceived a superior rating overall. over-all.
