Show Child abandoned, in foster home An infant baby, estimated to be from three to four months old, abandoned in an automobile at the Cedar Stake Center last Thursday evening is currently in foster care in Iron County. j Under court decree of District Dis-trict Juvenile Judge Sterling Bossard, the infant has been placed under the care and keeping of the Iron County j Division of Family Services and has been placed in a : foster home. The infant was discovered I in an automobile in the park - ' ing lot of the Cedar Stake Center belonging to Mrs. Mell Ence of Cedar City. , j Mrs. Ence discovered the i baby after leaving a meeting, warmly wrapped and with a bottle of milk-Law milk-Law officers were summoned summon-ed and Cedar City Policeman I Kerry Ruesch took the baby 1 to the Valley View Medical Center where it was exam ined and deiermint.a io oe ii good health. . . j Mrs. Phyllis Symond, in, charge of the department in- , dicated that they are still i hopeful that the natural par- j ents will come forth and I claim the infant girl. Howev-1 er, a legal waiting period must be observed before further fur-ther action can be taken, she indicated. After that legal period of time if the natural parents have not identified . themselves them-selves the case will again be taken before the juvenile couit where the judge may declare the infant legally a-doptable. a-doptable. Should the natural parents, in the meantime, attempt to reclaim the infant girl, the case would undergo a continued contin-ued investigation to determine the feasibility of returning the baby to them, Mrs. Symond Sy-mond concluded. At the present time no clues have been found as to the identity of the parents, it was stated. |
