LESLIE DALE PETERSON Miss Penny Kaye Jiverett, Leslie Petersen exchange marriage vows in temple rites Miss Penny Kaye Averett became the bride of Leslie Dale Peterson, Orem, in rites solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple, May 16. President Rudger C. Atkin officiated at the double ring ceremony in the presence of Carise Averett, Angie Chamberlain, Cham-berlain, Betty Hair, Joan Barron, Bar-ron, and Sue Williams. Mrs. Joe Empey was at the guest book, and Mrs. Cliff Halsey, Mrs. David Batt, and Miss Lynda Baldwin were in charse of the sifts. Kitchen hostesses were Mrs. Robert Holmes, Mrs- Boyd Leonard, Mrs. Van Esplin, Mrs. Keith Bess, Mrs. Arlo Larson, Mrs. Leon Bellows, Mrs. Harold Thompson, and Mrs. Merrill Kum. Mrs. Alvin Bradshaw was the caterer. Also greeting guests were grandparents of the newly-weds, newly-weds, Mr. Charles Averett, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Schmutz, New Harmony, and Mr. and Mrs. Thad Wilkerson, Neola. Mr. Ross Glass was at the organ, playing background music for the evening. Out of town guests included includ-ed Mr. and Mrs. John Hirs-chi, Hirs-chi, Sacramento, Calif.; Mr-and Mr-and Mrs. Wesley Hirschi, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pickett, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pickett, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Bently, Mrs. Ray Thompson, Mrs. Charles Andrus, Wilma Andrus, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Em-pey, Em-pey, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Math-is, Math-is, all of St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Richardsen, Murray; and Mr. and Mrs. Rahldo Turner, Mrs. James Turner, Mr- and Mrs. Quentin Nisson, Mr. and Mrs. Britt Kendall, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Dewey of Washington. Other out of town guests were Dick Mathis, St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Peterson, Redmon; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Street, Mountain Home; Mr. and Mrs. Kent Summers, Bullfrog; Bull-frog; Mrs. Margurite Dye, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Skeet Lee, Caliente, Nev.; and Mr. and Mrs. Wally Stephenson, Richfield. family members and close friends. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Averett, Cedar, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Peterson, Orem. The bride was lovely in a white floor length dress of Peau de Sole and lace with tiny seed ' pearls. The skirt was adorned with applique lace and seed pearls around the hem and front of the dress. It was softly gathered to a bodice of lace and seed pearls featuring a mandarin collar and full lace sleeves gathered to buttoned cuffs. Her veil of white bridal illusion illus-ion was held to a crown of matching satin and lace, seed pearls and rhinestone petals. The ensemble was styled and made by the bride's mother. She carried a bouquet of seven sev-en white Phalaenopsis Orchids and stephanotis. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was hosted by the parents of the newlyweds at the Averett residence. That evening a reception honoring the young couple was held at the Ninth Ward Cultural hall. The beautiful decorations were highlighted by a lighted tiered punch bowl and heart shaped tiered wedding cake on an electric pedestal. The gift tables were decorated with large blue and white paper flowers. Lighted blue chandeliers were hung to finish the old fashioned theme. Mrs. Bryon Bulloch was ma. tron of honor and Jill Leonard Coming from Neola were Mr. and Mrs. Thad Wilkerson, Mr. and Mrs. Glade Peterson and Don R. Gardner. Traveling Travel-ing down from Orem were Susan Swan, Clark Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Buckly, Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Swenson, and Mr. and Mrs. Adair Baxter. Jackie Randall attended the reception from Boston, Mass. An open house further honored hon-ored the couple in Orem, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Peterson. Pet-erson. Prior to the wedding a shower was given by Mrs. Bryon Bulloch, Mrs. Vaughn was maid of honor. They wore I full length dresses of dark blue chromspun. The high necked collar, cuffs, and waist line were trimmed with white lace and light blue ribbon. rib-bon. Bridesmaids ' were Mrs. Vaughn Neilson, Miss Carolyn Anderson, sisters of the bride Annette and Charmaine Averett, Aver-ett, and sister of the bridegroom, bride-groom, Debra Peterson. Flower Flow-er girls were Nancy Empey and Heidi Wood. The attendants attend-ants wore dresses matching those of the matron and maid of honor exceDt thev wpw Neilson, and Miss Carolyn Anderson An-derson for the bride at the Byron Anderson residence. The young marrieds will make their home in Cedar while both continue their studies at SUSC. light blue. All carried white nosegays and pom mums and daisies. Standing as best men were Lloyd Peterson, a brother, and Rodney Swenson. Ushering was done by Steve Foisy, Jerry Jer-ry Cross and Alan Averett. The mothers wore identical floor length gowns of medium medi-um blue crepe with a blue sequin neck trim. They wore white glamillias and rosebud corsages- For her going away outfit the bride chose a bright shaded pink, full length pant dress with a matching full I length maxi coat and pink sandals. A single white orchid or-chid completed her outfit as they left for a honeymoon in La.s Vegas. Greeting guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Hirschi and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hirschi. Acting Act-ing as hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Alpine Averett Av-erett and Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Scow. Mrs. Jay Richardsen and Mrs. Kent Summers poured at the punch bowl while serving serv-ing was done by Misses Marilyn Mari-lyn and Bonny Richardson, Lisa Hirschi, Allyson and |
