Show Final plans set for Memorial Day Race Meet Members of the Red Hill Wranglers, Parowan riding club, have been putting in many hours at the city race track, preparing for the annual an-nual Memorial bay Race Meet set for Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30 according to Mrs. Norman Evans, of the club. The Wranglers have joined with the Utah State Thoroughbred Thorough-bred Racing Association this year, which assures that many of the best horses in the state will be in Parowan for the Memorial Day meet. Horsemen wishing to enter their horses for either one of the two days, (Friday or Saturday), Sat-urday), must meet at the Iron County Courthouse in Parowan Paro-wan Thursday May 28 at 5 p. m. Purses are set by the Racing Rac-ing Association at $100 for each race. In addition to the races, Jackpot roping will be featured feat-ured between races with a barrel race for the ladies, as additional entertainment. Entries En-tries for these events will be at the race track prior to the races each day. Many improvements have been made at the track this spring, with the new rail and fence in front of the grandstand grand-stand almost complete, a new coat of paint is being placed on the rail and grandstand. Landscaping has been started with the planting of over 40 new trees,, with shrubs to be planted as soon as the new paddocks are completed. The Parowan track is one of the best in the area, with plenty of stalls for the horses. hors-es.
