Show Parowan Hi School students get scholarships Several more members of the graduating class at Parowan Paro-wan High School have been recipients of scholarships from institutions of higher learning learn-ing in the state, in addition to those which have been announced an-nounced in the past. The recipients reci-pients are: Christine Mitchell, a scolar-ship scolar-ship valued at $500 covering tuition and fees at BYU in Provo; Robert Rasmussen, from USU in Logan Paul Dotson, one from SUSC in Cedar City, Christine Knight received a scholarship from USU at Logan, Lo-gan, and Michelle Decker received re-ceived a Four-year state nor-,mal nor-,mal scholarship. Phillip Miller Mil-ler received an Award of Good Citizenship, given by the Sons of the American Revolution. Miss Mitchell has served as Rammette president, a marcher march-er three years, has been a girls State delegate, a Senate Youth delegate, is an honor student, and has had leading roles in several school plays Rasmussen has served as president of Letterman's Club and earned letters in football, wrestling and baseball. He attended at-tended Boys' State and was a U N delegate two years. He participated in operatta in his junior year. He is an Eagle Scout, has his Duty to God award and has served as Seminary Sem-inary president. Dotson has served as Senior class president this year, has been sec.-treas. of Letterman's club, has attended the Model U N for two years and has earned his letter in golf for four year. He also has his Duty to God Award. Miss Knight is an honor student, stu-dent, has served as secretary of the student body, with the Rammettes three years and won second place in Legion Auxiliary essay contest. She is a member of her ward's Bishop's Council. Miss Decker has served as assistant editor and then editor edi-tor of the Parowan High newspaper news-paper and has been a member mem-ber of the Rammatte Marching March-ing group for three years. She is also active in music. Miller earned letters in football foot-ball and golf; was a Model U N delegate two years, was Sr. class representative. He was in the HS band three years, chorus one year, served in the assembly program and has been active in scouting and . explorer work. |
