Kathy was selected from 43 girls from all over the state. Her attendants are Wendy Shuler, Payson, and Jan Weaver, Provo. Census 1970 questionnaires to be distributed in county Questionnaires for the 1970 Census of Population and Housing will be distributed by the Post Office beginning March 28 to all households in this area', District Manager C. R. Lomax announced today. Distribution of this form before be-fore the start of the house-to-house canvass gives the family fam-ily a chance to assemble information in-formation about each member mem-ber and about the house in advance of the census taker's visit. The District Manager urges all residents to fill out the forms and have them ready rea-dy for the census takers when they start their rounds on April Ap-ril 1. The form contains 7 questions ques-tions about every person in the household and 13 questions ques-tions about the dwelling. The personal information asked for is: name, address, sex, col- i household, the census taker will seek answers to additional addi-tional questions covering population pop-ulation and housing characteristics charac-teristics that are being asked of a 20 percent sample of the Nation's population. The sample questions include inquiries in-quiries on country of birth, schooling, employment, income, in-come, and related items. The additional housing questions relate to rent or value of dwelling, heating, equipment, water supply, and other facilities facil-ities and equipment. The District Manager pointed point-ed out that information about individuals and their homes furnished to the Census Bureau Bur-eau is kept confidential under un-der Federal law. Only statistical statis-tical totals and averages are published. No individual person per-son can be identified in published pub-lished reports and census information in-formation cannot be given to any other Government agency, local officials, tax collectors, police, health, welfare, or school officers, nor to anyone else. or or race, month and year of birth, whether married or single, and relationship to head of household. The in- j formation required about the ! dwelling is: number of rooms, cooking facilities, plumbing, if rented or owned. Most of the questions are answered by filling in the proper tiny circle with a common com-mon lead pencil, making a tiny black dot which can be "read" by Census Bureau machines. ma-chines. Residents should read the instruction sheet which will come with the questionnaire question-naire before filling it out. The census taker will check the questionnaire to see that all questions have been answered an-swered and will give any assistance as-sistance needed in filling out a questionnaire that is incomplete. in-complete.
