Show Ten lettermen to bolster Cedar High Redmen baseball hopes in track. Junior lettermen include in-clude Alan Averett, Brice Betenson, Lynn Hatch and Lewis Kunz. With the schedule this year calling for double headers each week pitching will be the story and Coach Hobbs expects to see sophomore Nolan No-lan Roberts perform on the mound as well this season. Following the games a-gainst a-gainst North Sevier, the Red-men Red-men will move into league play the following week and continue in league action throughout the season. Cedar High School Redmen are bouncing this week from basketball to baseball as they get practice drills into full swing. Coach Richard Hobbs is busy this week taking a final fin-al look at his prospects before be-fore cutting his squad to 16 players who will carry the Red and Gold banners through the 14 game season. This year the league has elected to stage double head- ers with each of the two seven inning contests to count in league standings. The league Is further expanded expand-ed with the inclusion this year of Millard into the Region Re-gion Eight schedule. The Redmen, however, have a tough assignment with at least two of their tougher battles at home against the Dixie Flyers and the Kanab Cowboys. Regular league play will open Friday, Apr. 3, but the Redmen will sit back and lake a bye in the opening round of play. However, on that date the Redmen will entertain North Sevier in a double header to be played on the Cedar City diamond. Coach Hobbs has 10 letter-men letter-men returning for action this season. They include two hurlers including Paul Wy-askett Wy-askett and Bruce Blackner, both seniors. Other seniors will bo Paul Cahoon, Brent .BUckner, Steve Anderson, and Erie Marchant. Marchant played as a sophomore, but was not on the team last year as he chose to participate |
