Show Children's play scheduled on SUSC campus "The Emperor's New Clothes," a children's play for all ages, will be produced at Southern Utah State College Col-lege April 2 and 3 as the senior sen-ior thesis of Farrel Zeeman, Spanish Fork, and Tim O'Brien. O'Bri-en. Cranrborry, New Jersey. Matinees for all Cedar City clemontarv school children will be held both days. Evening Even-ing performances are at 8:15. The play will be staged in the SUSC Auditorium. Sets have been designed with an eye for color and interest in-terest important to children's theater by Mr. O'Brien. Mr. Zeeman is responsible for casting and directing. The two drama majors have inrornorated fantasy, pageantry, pa-geantry, and comic action into in-to their production. The plot involves Zar and Zan, two "con artists," and their elaborate elab-orate plan to outwit the pompons pom-pons emperor and his court. The leading roles will be nlaved by Carolene Nicholes, Fairview. as Znr, and Hellie Hughes, Farmington, as Zan. Dave Pace, Spanish Fork, is the emperor. Andrea Adams, P.-irowan, will play Tsein. ' Two drama newcomers, newcom-ers, Bruce Griffin. Hurricane; and Kathleen Walton, Salt Lake City, will portray Fah and Ling. Dave Taylor, Magna, most recently seen as Linus in "Charlie Brown," will play the role of the gong hoy. Evil Han is played by Alan Clark, Provo. Dan Brienholt, Provo, as the general, is appearing in the SUSC drama for the first time. Susan Johnson, Snanish i Fork, js the little girl who i discovers the deception. Carol Car-ol Mathi.s, Sandy, of "The Gazebo," Ga-zebo," is the old woman. |
