PAUL MICHAEL SPEIRS Mary Ann Evans, Paul Michael Speirs recite marriage vows in church ceremony I In wedding rites which were recited on Friday, June 13 in the Relief Society room of the Third Ward Church here, Miss Mary Ann Evans become the bride of Paul Michael Speirs of Arcadia, Calif. The double ring ceremony was performed by Verl E. Taylor, former bishop of the ward with members mem-bers of , both families in attendance. at-tendance. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Evans of Parowan and the bridegroom bride-groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy K. Speirs of Arcadia. Arca-dia. A reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, honored the newly wedded couple following fol-lowing their marriage, in the Third Ward Cultural Hall. For this event the bride wore a floor-length gown of Nylon organza with long full sleeves trimmed with embroidery laced lac-ed with satin ribbons. The dress was lined with satin and the sleeves sheer. A wedding train was attached to yoke in back with embroidery and ribbons. Her bouquet was an orchid surrounded by white carnations. Matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Joan Lamoreaux, wearing a pink dress with lavender, la-vender, pink and purple flowers flow-ers on the sleeves. Bridesmaids Brides-maids were Cynthia Evans, Bonnie Jensen, April and Ce-lia Ce-lia Spears. They wore laven-1 laven-1 der dresses with pink, lavender laven-der and purple flowers in the sleeves. Their flowers were lavender la-vender carnations and white daisies. Standing as best man for the bridegroom was Ronald Scott Speirs, a brother, and ushers were Michael Stubbs, Randall Lamoreaux, Doug Jenson. To greet the guests the mother mo-ther of the bride wore a lavender la-vender A-line dress and the mother of the bridegroom a pink dress, and both wore orchids. or-chids. For her going away costume the bride wore a pink suit and the honeymoon consisted of a week stay at the Hilton Inn, Mission bay, Calif. The bride is a 1969 graduate gradu-ate of Parowan High School where she was active in music, mu-sic, drama and in the school marching group. The bridegroom bride-groom is a graduate of San Gabrial High School, and has served in the U. S. Army and attended College of Southern Utah. Prior to her wedding the , bride was the recipient of a personnal shower given by Carol Ann Adams. Following their honeymoon the newlyweds were feted at an open house on June 20 at the home of the parents of the bridegroom at Arcadia, Calif. This event was in the form of a garden reception. |
