Boys who are already on teams are especially encouraged encour-aged to attend and assist in the work project, according to League president, Fred Wright Despite weather that appears ap-pears to be contrary Cedar City' Little League program is expected to get off and running run-ning Monday, April24, it is announced by officials of both the American and National Na-tional Little Leagues. Both leagues will begin try-out try-out on that date and boys 9 through 12 years of age Interested Inter-ested in participating on a team this year should be at the Little League parks at 5 p.m. Monday night. In order to be eligible a boy must be nine years old prior to July 31 and must not have turned 13 by that same date. A boy whose birthday is August Aug-ust 1 and he turns 13 on that date would still be eligible to participate as a 12 year old this season. Cedar City Little Leagues are divided into two groups according to birth dates. A boy whose birthday falls between be-tween the 1 and 15 Inclusive of any month is automatically in the National League. Any boy whose birthday falls on the 16 through 31 of any month will try out in the American League. Another requirement is that all boys must be properly registered re-gistered to participate. Registration Regis-tration forms are available at the Iron County Record, or at the Golf Course. Boys should pick up a registration form, have it filled in and signed by the parents, and take it with them to' tryouts, accord in to officials. Following a series of tryouts try-outs by each league team selections will bo made and practice sessions will get underway un-derway in preparation for the season opener which is Monday, Mon-day, May 22. |
