Show Shakespearean plays Consultant named Dr. A. Wilber Stevens, Professor Pro-fessor of English and Compar-1 ative Literature at Prescott j College, Prescott, Arizona, has been named Special Consultant Consult-ant to the Shakes-pear Seminar to be held at the Utah Shakespeare Shake-speare Festival next summer in Cedar City. The announcement was made jointly by McRay Clow-ard, Clow-ard, Dean of the School of C o ntinuing Education at Southern Utah State College, and Dr. R. A. Christmas, Chairman Chair-man of the SUSC Department of English. Dr. Stevens, a widely traveled trav-eled poet and scholar, will lecture and lead discussions on the three plays being produced pro-duced this year by the Utah Shakespearean Festival "King Lear", "The Comedy of Errors," and 'The Wivitcr's Tale." The Seminar will run from July 17 . August 4, and is open to students from high . schools and colleges, as well as visitors and the general public. Dr. Stevens has served as Chairman of the English Departments De-partments at Idaho State College Col-lege and Park College, and as Fulibright Professor of English Eng-lish at the University of Mandalay, Burma. His background back-ground in Shakespeare is extensive, ex-tensive, having lectured on drama at numerous meetings and conferences throughout the United States and abroad. He is currently Chairman of the Center for Language and Literary Studies at Prescott College, and Director of the Prescott College Press. |
