Show Last week's storm brightens area water picture The first storm of any consequence con-sequence to come to the Parowan Paro-wan area since December, of 1971, hit here on Thursday of last week, coming in the form of a fine wet snowstorm. And it deposited a total of .42 of an inch of water in the storm of blizzard proportions and remained re-mained with us until Friday morning, states Clayton Ras-mussen, Ras-mussen, local weather station sta-tion caretaker. The cold which followed this storm was down below freezing and probably wiped out the remaining fruit that may have survived the earlier big freeze On the bright side of the picture, it added a lot of snow to the higher levels in the mountains, with the people at Brian Head, reporting between 30 and 35 inches of new snow. This will augment that already al-ready on the ground and help the summer water prospects. It also provided for a brief period of skiing at Brian Head, but it didn't lastlong. |
