I 597 W. 2nd North, 8354201 254-3501 V Question I It isn't that I want to go contrary to the tradi- 1 I tion that says I should have a funeral service, S but I cannot convince myself that it has a pur- pose. What do you say about this? Answer I a If we agreed with you we wouldn't conscientious- ly do what we are doing. But we do feel differ- ently and appreciate the opportunity to tell you why. Very simply stated we believe a funeral service to be that one brief, specific moment in all of history when the accomplishment of God's earth- g ly plan for each of us is commemorated quietly, S peachfully and with dignity. A funeral service 4 S concludes for those we love, and who love us, 1 the physical existence which is the object of I love. I I Actually a funeral service is not for those who S are deceased. Whether we do or do not have a g funeral service is a decision usually made by those we leave behind. If they choose to partici- S pate in a religious funeral service in the presence of our mortal remains, it will be because it is meaningful and has a urpose for them.
